In March, NSD’s Applied Nuclear Physics program hosted a workshop on Radiological Data Fusion on the UC Berkeley campus. The ‘RadFusion’ workshop brought together over 80 researchers from national laboratories, universities, industry, and government to discuss the state-of-the-art and future opportunities in radiological data fusion for nuclear nonproliferation.

Xin Dong (RNC) and Volker Koch (Theory) recently hosted a two-day Workshop on High Baryon Density Physics in High-Energy Nuclear Collisions at LBNL. This workshop was held as a satellite meeting of the 22nd International Conference on Strangeness in Quark Matter (SQM2026) which was held at UCLA. The workshop centered around focused discussions on high baryon density physics including collectivity and correlations and criticality.

Hannah Parrilla, a Sr. Scientific Engineering Associate with NSD’s Applied Nuclear Physics program, was recognized by the LBNL K-12 Education and Outreach Office for completing 100 hours of service in STEM outreach, communication, and education as a Teaching Scholar. Congratulations, Hannah!

NSD welcomes new postdocs Yuliia Hrabar (Low Energy Program), Nanda Shirsendu (RNC), and admin Michele Anne (RNC/Theory).
